Named after the Bemba word for “hippopotamus,” Imboo is more than just a gemstone; it is a testament to the power of nature, the rarity of such high-quality finds, and the meticulous work of mining.

What humbles me most is the reminder that such a jewel has taken thousands of years to form beneath the earth’s surface. Its value comes from time itself, a slow, patient artistry of nature—while we, in contrast, measure and exchange it in money. That contrast makes gemstones even more profound, for they are far beyond human timelines.
